Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the CampusKit desktop application, the optional CampusKit Cloud service and the campuskit.app website. By downloading or using CampusKit you agree to them. CampusKit is made by Jashanpreet Singh ("we", "us").

The license you get

CampusKit is available free from the Microsoft Store on Windows and as a macOS download. The Store download includes the free planner; Pro and CampusKit Cloud are optional, separate purchases through Polar.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use CampusKit for your own planning. The free tier may be used indefinitely. A Pro purchase (yearly or lifetime) unlocks the Pro features for the purchased term on up to 3 devices you own. You may not resell, sublicense, or share license keys, or attempt to circumvent the license system.

Pro subscriptions and lifetime purchases

• The yearly plan renews automatically until cancelled; cancel any time from the Polar customer portal linked in your receipt email.
• When a yearly subscription lapses, Pro features lock again. Your data is never touched or deleted.
• The lifetime plan is a one-time payment for the lifetime of the product.
• Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record; Polar's terms apply to the transaction itself.

CampusKit Cloud

Cloud is an optional subscription that syncs your planner between your devices and keeps weekly backups of it on our servers. It is separate from Pro: Pro does not include Cloud, and Cloud does not unlock Pro features.

• Your account. You sign in with an email address you control. You need to be at least 13 to create an account. Keep sign-in codes to yourself; an account is for one person and their own devices.
• Free trial. A new account gets 14 days of Cloud free, with no card. One trial per person.
• Billing. After the trial, Cloud is $5 a month or $45 a year, plus any tax Polar charges. It renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time from Manage billing in the app (the Polar customer portal). Cancelling stops the next renewal; Cloud keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. If we change the price, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your renewal.
• When a plan ends. Sync and new backups pause, and every device keeps its own copy of your data. We keep the cloud copy and its backups for 30 days, then delete them, and email you a week before. You can delete your Cloud account and everything in it yourself at any time.
• Your content. What you put in CampusKit stays yours. You let us store, copy and process it only as needed to run Cloud for you: syncing, backups and restores. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep and for how long.
• Availability. We work to keep Cloud running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable, slow or lose a change. Cloud backups are a convenience, not a guarantee, so keep the copy on your devices and their local backups too. Cloud has fair-use limits (for example on how often you can request codes or make backups) to keep it working for everyone.
• If Cloud shuts down. If we ever stop offering Cloud, we will tell account holders by email at least 30 days before, leave time to make sure every device has its data, and refund any prepaid time we cannot provide.

Your data, your responsibility

CampusKit stores your data locally on your device and keeps daily backups there. Without Cloud, nothing is backed up anywhere else, so please keep copies of anything you can't afford to lose. Grade and GPA calculations are provided as planning aids: verify anything that matters (like graduation requirements) against your institution's official records. CampusKit is not affiliated with any university.

AI features

AI features rely on third-party model providers you connect (Anthropic, OpenAI, or your ChatGPT account). You are responsible for complying with your provider's terms, and for reviewing AI output before relying on it. AI answers can be wrong. The math tools help, but the final exam is still yours to sit.

Acceptable use

Don't use CampusKit to break the law, violate your institution's academic-integrity policies, or probe, attack or overload the services it connects to (CampusKit Cloud, GitHub, Microsoft Store, Polar, AI providers). Don't use Cloud to store anything other than your own planner data, or try to reach another person's account.

Warranty and liability

CampusKit is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be noted in the changelog, and Cloud account holders will also be told by email. We may terminate licenses, and suspend or close Cloud accounts, that violate these terms. You can stop using CampusKit at any time. Your local data remains yours.
