Plan your whole degree

Map requirements by category, track which are done, registered or planned, and watch the graduation ring fill up.

The Degree Planner answers a question the weekly planner cannot: how much is left, and what is it? It is a free feature.

Add requirements

  1. Open Degree Planner in the sidebar.
  2. Add a requirement for each course or rule in your program. Give it a name (for example CSE 100 — Algorithms), a category and its units.
  3. Set a status:
    • Done: completed with a passing grade.
    • Registered: you are enrolled this semester.
    • Planned: on the list for a future term. Add the intended term in the free-text field (“Spring 2027”) so you can see the sequence.

Categories are major, minor, general education and elective, and the page shows units done per category, so you can see at a glance that you are fine on major courses but two GEs short.

Previous credits

Credit you brought in before your first term, such as AP and IB scores, dual enrollment or transfer units, goes in the Previous credits card above the requirements. Give each one a name, what it counts toward and its units. They count as done in the graduation bar and in their bucket’s total, and they never appear on the term board. In high school mode the card is called Earlier credits, for courses like Algebra I taken in middle school.

The graduation ring

The ring at the top shows progress toward your target units. The default is 120; click Target to match your program (many engineering degrees are 128, some quarter-system schools use 180). The ring fills with done units, shows registered units as the next band, and the number in the middle is what remains after everything done, registered and planned.

Keeping it current

At the end of each semester, move the courses you passed from Registered to Done, register the next batch, and the ring updates. The wizard’s Map your degree step (re-runnable from Settings, General, Setup assistant) is a quick way to enter a lot of requirements at once.
