How semesters work
Everything in the weekly views belongs to a semester: courses, their meetings, assignments and focus sessions. The semester switcher in the header shows which one you are looking at, and every page follows it.
Create the next semester
- Open the semester switcher in the header and choose New semester.
- Name it and set its start and end dates.
- Switch to it and add courses, by hand or by importing syllabi.
You can create a future semester early and add courses to it as you register, then switch when the term starts.
End-of-term checklist
- Enter final scores so every course shows its final letter. If you only have the letter, set the score that lands on it.
- Open Settings, choose General, and under Semesters click Archive on the finished term.
- Create or switch to the new semester.
What archiving does
- The semester leaves the switcher, so day-to-day views only show current terms.
- Its courses and grades are kept and still feed your cumulative GPA.
- Its assignments, focus sessions and everything else stay in the database and in exports.
- Unarchive in the same list brings it back at any time.
Nothing is deleted by archiving. To remove a semester entirely, delete it from the same list; that removes its courses and assignments and cannot be undone, so take a backup first.
