Start a session
- Open Focus in the sidebar.
- Pick the course you are working on. Tagging is what makes the study log useful later.
- Press Play. The default is the classic pomodoro: 25 minutes of focus, then a 5-minute break.
The controls are the ones you would expect: Pause, Reset, and Skip break when you are in flow and want the next block right away.
Change the lengths
In Settings, under Focus timer, set the Focus length and Break length in minutes. Changes apply from the next session, so a running timer is never cut short.
Mini window
Click the Mini window button (the shrink icon) on the Focus page. The timer pops out into a small always-on-top window that floats over your notes, slides or code. Click the same button again in the mini window to return to the full app.
The study log
Every completed focus block is saved with its date, course and minutes. The This week panel on the Focus page turns that into a bar per day and a total per course, so at the end of the week you can see whether the course you are most worried about is the one you actually spent time on.
Sessions are also available to the Ask AI chat and to MCP clients, which can log sessions for you (“log 45 minutes of chemistry”) and answer “how much did I study this week?”.
